Social Studies Teacher Dr. Marcel Dumas Gautreau

Marcel Dumas Gautreau began his career in education as a substitute teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools. He contributed to the district’s mission to inspire and empower students on their academic journeys. Between 2022 and 2024, Marcel Dumas Gautreau worked for Mathnasium in Vienna, Virginia, as a mathematics instructor. He effectively followed the Mathnasium Method while guiding learners through various lessons and exercises, developing students’ confidence and demonstrating quality customer service.

Additionally, Marcel Gautreau has worked as a public school social studies teacher. While in this position, he effectively planned and implemented a social studies instructional program. He further served the district by managing student behavior and following all relevant policies, laws, and professional standards.

Dr. Gautreau earned a doctor of economics from George Mason University. He completed an undergraduate program in political science at Hofstra University. During his time at George Mason, he competed in several power meets, with personal bests of 365 pounds in the bench press, 415 pounds in the squat, and 505 pounds in the deadlift.
